You Don't Have Permission to Restore 1 File Error Message

Causes:

There are several causes of this issue:

  1. There is already a file in the original folder with the same name as the file being restored.
  2. The file has been locked by another project member before deleting.

Solution:

There is already a file in the original folder with the same name as the file being restored:

  • Follow these steps:
    1. Check if the file needs to be restored by opening the file with the same file name.
    2. Rename the file in the original folder.
    3. Move the file with the same name to a different folder.

The file has been locked by another project member before deleting:

  • Inform the project member that locked the file before deleting it that it can only be restored by themselves.
  • Make all the members aware to unlock the files in BIM 360 before deleting them.
