Issue:

How to create a 3D chamfer or interpolate an edge in PartMaker.

Solution:

To create a 3D chamfer, do the following :
  1. Create a face window that will face the tool normal to the hole being chamfered.
  2. Create a new Surface Group.
  3. Choose Projection in the surface group.
  4. Select a chamfer or spot drill tool.

  1. Apply the settings and close the Surface Group Parameters.
  2. Project geometry from the model into the 2D window.
  3. Offset the 2D geometry inwards to get the tool tip off of the chamfer.

  1. Use the Chain Geometry icon to select the projected 2D geometry as the toolpath.
  2. Verify the toolpath.
