Issue:

  • You would like to know how to add VBA Enabler Module to a deployment.
  • This is only available for AutoCAD and Civil 3D versions 2014-2019.

Solution:

Follow the below steps:
  1. Download the VBA Module for AutoCAD  and run it to extract the install files. (Cancel out of the install window when it comes up. At this point you just want to extract the install files.).
  2. Start your deployment creation or modify an existing deployment.
  3. When you get to the list of products to be included in the deployment, click Include additional software.
  4. Click Add and then browse to the AcVbaInstaller.msi file in the location where the VBA Enabler install files were extracted. (By default it will be in C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_20xx_AcVbaInstaller_English_Win_64bit\x64\AcVbaInstaller).
  5. In Command Line Parameters enter INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Autodesk"
  6. Click on Click to close and return to product list and then finish creating the deployment.
  7. When the deployment creation has finished, navigate to the folder where the VBA Enabler install files were extracted and open the .msi file folder.
  8. Depending on your VBA installer version copy files you see there to the deployment \Img\ADDONS\ADDON_ACVBAINSTALLER_0 folder. (You do not need to copy the VBA installer .msi file as that should have automatically been copied during the deployment creation.)
  9. You should then be able to run the deployment and have it install VBA Enabler 20xx successfully.

Additionally files for Windows 10 (in step 4):

  1. Also add these programs located in folder: ..\AutoCAD_20xx_AcVbaInstaller_English_Win_64bit\3rdParty\VBA and ...\AutoCAD_20xx_1_1_AcVbaInstaller_Win_64bit_dlm\3rdParty\x64\VCRedist\2010SP1 and ..\AutoCAD_20xx_1_1_AcVbaInstaller_Win_64bit_dlm\3rdParty\x86\VCRedist\2010SP1
    • vcredist_x86
    • vcredist_x64
    • vba71.msi
    • vba71_10XX.msi where 10XX is the language of your AutoCAD regarding following table:
      Language CodeLanguage (informative)
      1028Chinese (Traditional)
      1031German
      1033English
      1036French
      1040Italian
      1041Japanese
      1042Korean
      1043Dutch
      1046Portuguese (Brazil)
      1053Swedish
      2052Chinese (Simplified)
      3082Spanish
If you have more than one language installed for AutoCAD, you need to add vba71_10XX.msi for every AutoCAD language.
