Issue:

How to move/copy faces of a CAD body/part in Fusion 360.

Solution:

To Move and copy geometry of a body;

Note - The Move/Copy command moves or copies components, bodies, faces, or sketch objects in Fusion 360.

Design > Modify > Move move icon

Select components, bodies, faces, or sketch objects and use the Move/Copy command to move them, rotate them, or copy them.

Values are stored parametrically, which can edited later. It also applies to selected points.

The Move/Copy command captures the final position when the command is complete. The final position is captured in the Timeline.

Note: The Free Move option is the most flexible, but is not captured parametrically. There will be no recording in the parameters table of a free move.

Create Copy

A copy of the body or component can be made when moving. After selecting an object, but before moving or adjust it, check the Create Copy checkbox. Two features now appear in the timeline, representing the original object and the copy.

Move/Copy command vs. Press Pull command

The following image explains a difference between Press Pull command, and the Move/Copy command: The core difference is that Press Pull will offset geometry, while Move will move it.

Press Pull will offset the cylinder, making the diameter larger or smaller while keeping it fixed in location. Move will shift the location of the cylinder, without affecting the diameter. This allows the user to translate a feature along a part (which isn't always possible with Press Pull).
