How to set a dark theme for Revit

Issue:

You want to know how to set a dark\black interface theme available in Revit.

Causes:

Solution:

2024 and later versions

Revit Options: Revit has the following options to reduce the brightness of the interface:

  • Active Theme: Setting the Active Theme =  Dark will change the appearance of the Ribbon from light gray to dark gray. See the help link for more details.

  • Canvas Theme: "The Canvas theme can be set to dark or light using the Canvas Theme ribbon button in the View tab."

 

2023 and earlier versions

  • Requirement: Windows needs to have the Dark Theme available for Revit's Dark Theme to work.
