Issue:

You inserted a drawing border with a title block using AMTITLE command and set a scale.

You then created a viewport to show the entire drawing area defined by the drawing border.

Later you changed the drawing border scale and noticed that the view area in the viewport was not showing the entire drawing area.

You want to know how to set a viewport scale to always fit the entire drawing area regardless of the scale change.

Solution:

  • Solution #1: Change a standard scale setting for the viewport. For example, you'll need to click a desired viewport and change its standard scale to 'Scale to fit'.

  • Solution #2: Set UCSFOLLOW system variable to 1 (ON). A viewport scale will automatically change to fit the entire drawing (zoom extents) if you double-click on the viewport after a UCS is changed.
