How to set up a custom drawing template in Fusion

Solution:

To create a drawing template in Fusion try one of the following:

From an existing drawing 

  1. From the File, select "New Template".
  2. Select the file to use as a template in the "Create New Template", and apply some adjustments to the drawing like deleting not needed elements, like views.
  3. Save the file and the custom template is accessible in the template list of the new drawing dialog. 

 

Starting with a custom drawing border and a custom title block

  1. Start the "New Template" option from the "File" drop-down menu.
  2. Select the option "from scratch" in the "Create New Template" dialog box.
  3. Now tailor the existing Drawing border and title block like described in this article Title blocks and borders.
  4. Follow this explanation to Prepare an AutoCAD DWG title block.
  5. Save the file.
