Issue:

How to create a consolidation layer based on Toposurface in Revit? If there is a Toposurface created in Revit what would be the possible methods to represent the consolidation layer of a specified thickness, offset by a specified distance from the ground surface?

Solution:

Check one of the possible methods:
  • Create a floor at a specific elevation and adjust the points and split lines with Edit Floor and Roof Shape tools.
  • Copy the existing toposurface by a specific offset multiple times, to get the representation of the consolidation layer. It's possible to override the cut edges by element of the newly created surfaces to distinguish the display.

  • Export the top surface of the topography to DWG and edit it AutoCAD or Civil 3D to extrude the geometry. Save the file in DWG and link it in Revit again.

  • Use the 3rd party add-ins and Dynamo to create a floor adjusted to the surface geometry. For more information check here and here
