Issue:

Is it possible to reset the deleted PID Valve auto numbering to previous number in project data of AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Causes:

  • Auto-numbering does the numbering based on the components placed.
  • Deleting the valve or other components won't delete the last used number.

Solution:

Follow these steps:
  1. Open the project setup.
  2. Navigate to P&ID DWG Settings > P&ID Class Definitions > Engineering Items > Inline Assets > Hand Valves.
  3. Select the Hand Valve Tag Format and click on the Modify... button. See image:image.png
  4. Click on the Define Expression button. See image:image.png
  5. In the Define Expression dialog box, check Autogenerate expression.
  6. Select Project Field and click on the Select Project Autogeneration Property button. See Image:image.png
  7. In the Select Project Autogeneration Property dialog box delete the last used Valve number as required.image.png
  8. Click OK on all the dialog boxes.
  9. Finally, Click OK to save and exit the project setup.
