Screen Flickering in AutoCAD when using Copy and Move Commands

Issue:

When working in AutoCAD the screen flickers when using the copy and move commands

Causes:

  • Graphics Card
  • Windows user profile

Solution:

Try one or more of the following suggestions to attempt to fix the issue:

Turn off GRAPHICSCONFIG:
  1. On the command line type GRAPHICSCONFIG and hit 'Enter'.
  2. Set the value to 0.
Change the default graphics to a higher performing graphics card:
  1. Right-click the desktop and choose Display settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Graphics settings.

  1. Click Browse and then navigate to and select the software executable. As an example, for AutoCAD 2021, this would be C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2021\acad.exe. Double-click acad.exe to add it to the list.

  1. Click on the application (e.g., AutoCAD Application) to activate the Options button.

  1. Select the High Performance option, then click Save and close the Settings panel.

  1. Launch or restart the software (if it was running) and look within the program to confirm the high performance device is enabled.
Alternatively:
Windows user profile
In the case of Windows user profile issue, create a new profile under Windows and launch AutoCAD
