Issue:

Is it possible to bulk export or create a local backup of Fusion data without exporting each file individually?

Solution:

Bulk exporting from Autodesk Fusion is not currently possible or natively supported. Consider one of the following suggestions to create a local backup of Fusion data without exporting each file individually.

Backup designs from the local cache

Fusion creates a local copy of data in the local cache or F folder for a limited number of days. It is possible to add files to the local cache and create copies for backup. 

Note: This method is suitable if the Fusion files within a project do not contain references to any other Fusion designs.

  1. Close all Fusion designs and close the program. 
  2. Clear the current local cache by deleting the "offline user cache" with the Reset Fusion Command from Fusion Service Utility
  3. Reopen Fusion. 
  4. Add files to the offline cache through one of the following methods: 
    • Add by project:
      1. Open the project that needs to be backed up.
      2. Click the gear icon in the data panel.
      3. Select Cache for this project.

Cache this project

    • Add by individual file:
      1. Select the required files individually (Shift or Ctrl+ select will also work to select multiple files)
      2. Right-click and select Add to Offline Cache.

Add to offline cache

  1. Once all the data is added, create a local folder on your system to store the files.
  2. Locate the designs in the local cache or F folder: How to locate locally cached files in Autodesk Fusion
  3. Make a copy of the archive (F3D) files and paste it into the Backup folder.
