How to improve surface finish in cylindrical surface using Constant Z strategy in PowerMill

Issue:

While using Constant Z Finishing toolpath for cylindrical surface step marks are found in vertical walls in PowerMill.

Causes:

Toolpath is creating with more no of points instead of arc output in the points distribution option Tolerance and keep arcs selected.

Solution:

Follow the following step to achieve the finish without step mark on the vertical wall:

  1. Go to Toolpaths.
  2. Select Constant Z Finishing strategy in Finishing
  3. Fill all the required parameters in the form.
  4. Select Point distribution tab.
  5. From the Pointed distribution select Output type as Fit arcs and set Tolerance factor and Mesh factor 
Cont Z form .
  1. Calculate the toolpath
