Pipe Insulation does not honor transparency settings in plan views in Revit 2023

Issue:

Users reported that pipe Insulations set to be transparent in views display properly in 3D model views, but unexpectedly cover pipe elements in plan views in Revit 2023.

The same issue is not reproducible in Revit 2020, 2021 and 2022.

A resolution is also planned in another future release.

To install updates, open the Autodesk desktop app and click My Updates. To install a new version of your Autodesk software, open the Autodesk desktop app, sign in, and click My Products. To use a web browser to install updates or a new version, sign in to Autodesk Account. (Your access to new versions or updates depends on your Autodesk software entitlements.)

Additional Information:

In Revit 2023, the pipe insulation transparency is displayed as expected in 3D views, and in pipe fitting elements in both 3D and 2D plan views, but the transparent insulation unexpectedly covers pipe elements in the 2D Plan views.

Workaround:

Follow these steps to correct the display: 
  1. Open the affected view. 
  2. On the Properties Palette, set the view Discipline to Plumbing.
  3. On the Properties Palette, click on the drop-down menu next to "Show Hidden Lines" and select "By Discipline". 
  4. Apply the change to the view - the transparency setting will get applied on the pipe insulations as expected, thus displaying the pipes with hidden lines, even though the insulation transparency won't be as displayed as defined in the Visibility Graphic settings.
