Issue:

When attempting to load a family into a Revit project, the process fails due to conflicting shared parameters with an error:  "The shared parameter 'X' cannot be added with name 'X' and type '<Type>' because it conflicts with the existing name 'X' and type '<Other type>'" in Revit".

Solution:

Ensure that shared parameters in the family and in any nested families are of the same type (for example, Text, Flow, Pressure, Yes/No,etc.) as parameters of the same name in the project into which they are being loaded.
If there are no shared parameters being used, copy the geometry into a new family template as the original may be corrupt.
