Separation contact not recognized for parts defined with gap in Inventor Nastran.

Solution:

Define Penetration surface offset (equal to gap width) in contact definition.
Follow the steps.
  1. Double-click contact to be modified from Nastran Tree.
  2. Define Penetration surface offset (equal to gap width).
  3. OK.
