Issue:

Unable to select AutoCAD block definition with all its associated elements and geometry in Navisworks.

Causes:

The inability to select a block definition is due to the various sublayers contained in the AutoCAD block. 
Note: AutoCAD layers are recognized before block definitions in Navisworks.

Solution:

We recommend that you use their "handle" value from AutoCAD to find/select individual blocks in Navisworks:
  1. Click Home tab > Select & Search panel > Selection Tree 4.png (or click Ctrl + F12).
  2. In Selection Tree change to Properties,
  3. Go to Entity Handle > Value:

Note: The "Handle" value is visible after selecting even one element from the block:

Note: In AutoCAD by using command LIST the "Handle" can be checked in command line:
