Autodesk Moldflow uses material data of plastics to simulate the injection molding process. Autodesk Moldflow Data Fitting (AMDF) is a free product that enables a user to convert raw, measured material data into a format (a .udb file) suitable for use in Autodesk Moldflow simulation software.

Autodesk Moldflow Data Fitting Capabilities:

  • Input general material information, Processing Conditions, Filler Data, MFR
  • Input specific, tested data points for properties such as Specific Heat and Thermal Conductivity
  • Input tested raw data to be fitted with models used within Moldflow (such as Cross/WLF Viscosity model)
  • Specify which properties to use Generic data (where possible, such as pvt or Mechanical data)
  • Estimate Quality Indicators and view their expiration date
  • Export the data in *.21000.udb format for direct use in all versions of Autodesk Moldflow Insight since v 5.0 and * Autodesk Moldflow Adviser since v7.0.
  • Specify if material is to be included in future releases of the Autodesk Moldflow materials database

Use of the Autodesk Moldflow Data Fitting 2025 application ensures that raw material data is accurately converted for use in Autodesk Moldflow 2025 and later. The application also provides a mechanism for converting raw material data as soon as it is available, eliminating delays caused by manual conversion methods and allowing users to gain access to the data as soon as possible.
