Modeling rebar by sketch

Learn to use common sketch tools for manual placement of rebar shapes within a valid host.

1. Open the Section 1 view, which cuts through the floor and a beam. Click Rebar to activate the Structural Rebar tool.

2. On the Modify | Place Rebar tab in the Placement Methods panel, select Sketch.

3. Click on the beam to start the command.

4. Use the tools in the Draw panel to sketch the rebar shape. Click the Finish Edit Mode button to accept the sketch and place the new shape. In the Properties palette, the rebar size can be changed if needed.

 

Propagating rebar

Learn to copy and adapt shape-driven and free-form rebar from the source host to destination hosts.

1. Select a host with rebar inside. On the Modify | Structural Framing tab in the Reinforcement panel, select Propagate Rebar.

2. You can align rebar automatically by host or manually by the source and destination faces. In the Propagate Rebar panel, select Align By Face.

3. Select the original face from the host of the selected rebar. Rebar is aligned with respect to this face.

4. Select the destination face. The rebar is shown as a preview for the selected faces. Click Finish to save or Cancel to discard your changes and exit the Propagate Rebar command.
