What are the minimum system requirements to use Fusion in a browser?

  • A computing device with a minimum of 2GB RAM, a modern (HTML5-compatible) browser, and a reliable internet connection*. This includes Chromebooks running on Chrome OS and the Chrome Web browser.
  • External mouse recommended, but not required.
  • Internet connection requirements: a roundtrip ping time < 600ms to a US West Coast server location, and a minimal bandwidth of 5Mbps download/ 1.5Mpbs upload. Can I open https://fusion.online.autodesk.com/  on any computer?

Yes, this service is available to all devices with a keyboard and modern browser. This excludes tablets and mobile phones such as iPads and iPhones.

Can I use browser access to Fusion if I have a Trial or Personal license for Fusion?

Trial accounts and Personal licenses do not have browser access.

What countries are supported?

The service is available in all countries where Fusion licenses are available, however it is currently optimized for use in the U.S.

After I click Launch Fusion, progress seems to get stuck or gives me an error

Please go back Home and start again. There are several reasons that might lead to this error, including internet connection speed or issues on the availability of servers.

When you reach fusion.online.autodesk.com, we will look if you are already signed to any Autodesk product or page and use those credentials. If you have more than one account and you happen to be using the one that's not eligible for access, sign in with the proper one (you might need to sign out of the other account you are using).

Access to Fusion is blocked on my device

IT administrators restrict Chromebook applications and network functionality for security reasons. The following domains need to be allowed to have access:

What is the maximum session duration to use Fusion in the browser?

Sessions have a maximum duration of 4 hours. There's a time out if you don't use the service for over 15 minutes. In this case, you can reconnect to your session if you have been disconnected for less than 20 minutes. If more time has passed, you will be connected to a new session.

How many sessions can I do in a day?

You can have as many sessions as you need (not concurrently). Make sure you save the work before ending the session. You won't be able to close the browser's tab until you confirm you want to Leave. This is designed to prevent an accidental closing of the site.

I received a message that no servers are available. What do I do?

If the system reaches capacity, you will need to wait for someone else to end a session. You should simply retry after a couple of minutes.

How do I use Fusion Team?

If you click on a link to Fusion Team from Fusion's Data Panel, it will open a new tab in your browser. You should always work on Fusion Team from your own machine.

How do I upload any files into my Fusion session online?

You should open Fusion Team on your computer's browser and upload any data from there. If you're a student, ask your teacher to copy any necessary files into a Fusion Team project that's shared with the classroom.

Is all the functionality of Fusion available through browser access?

In most cases, hidden features are based on the fact that they access local folders. Export and import have been disabled or changed to support Fusion Team as the mechanism for storing and retrieving content. Most of these limitations can be worked around by using Fusion Team for uploading and downloading content, and also for using Share Public Link.

Inserting Mesh or DXF tries to open local folder which I don't have access to. How do I work with these formats?

  1. Upload meshes and DXF files into a Project in Fusion Team.

  2. Back in Fusion on your Chromebook or other computing device, right click on the model's thumbnail and select Create Fusion Design.

  3. A job status dialog box will open. You can click Close if you want.

  4. Once the conversion to a Fusion document is done, Refresh the Data Panel.

  5. Click on Insert into Current Design if you want to add to an existing open design or Open if you want to start a new design with the mesh or the DXF.

How can I insert an SVG file?

The above workaround won't work for SVG files until some enhancements are introduced. For the time being, someone with access to Fusion installed locally should insert SVG into a document and make this document available through Fusion Team.

How can I export files from the Fusion browser?

Export in Fusion generally looks for local folders, so you will need to do any Export from Fusion Team. Select the document you need to export from and then Fusion Team will allow you to download the required format. If you are a student and your browser has downloads disabled, you can always make sure that your teacher can see your Fusion document through Fusion Team and they can do the download.
