On April 11, 2024, Autodesk Lustre 2025 will mark the last release of Lustre. For an enhanced VFX and finishing toolset, you will have the option to move to an annual Autodesk® Flame® software subscription at a discounted price at the time of your next Lustre renewal.
What is happening to Lustre?
Following the release of Lustre 2025, Autodesk will cease further product development of Lustre. No new version updates, features, or product enhancements will be developed for Lustre after April 11, 2024.
Why is Autodesk ending product development of Lustre after version 2025?
Autodesk believes we can better serve you by investing in the development of improved VFX and finishing toolsets and workflows in Flame.
How will these changes affect me?
Due to the end of product development, Lustre will not receive any further version updates, features or enhancements following version 2025. However, you can continue to use Lustre and receive technical support while your subscription to Lustre is still active.
What options are available to me?
Licensing of Lustre 2025 remains available for purchase. You may also switch to an annual Flame subscription at a discounted price at the time of your Lustre renewal.
How can I move to Flame at the time of renewal?
You can move to Flame at the time of renewal at a discounted price by contacting your Autodesk-authorized reseller. You will have to forgo your subscription to Lustre, along with any associated pricing guarantees if applicable.
You will not be able to add additional Flame subscription seats at the discounted price as this is a one-to-one offer valid from May 7, 2024, to May 6, 2025. Subsequent Flame renewals will occur at the standard Flame pricing.
Am I eligible for the discounted Flame subscription?
To be eligible for the discounted offer, you must have an active Lustre subscription on May 7, 2024. You will have the option to switch to Flame at your renewal during the one-year period starting May 7, 2024.
What is Flame?
Flame is a VFX and finishing software, used by VFX supervisors, CG compositing artists, colorists, and finishers for film, episodic and commercial productions.
How does Flame compare to Lustre?
Lustre is an advanced color grading application. With proven color grading toolsets, you will gain VFX and finishing capabilities by switching to an annual Flame subscription at a discounted price. With the purchase of a license of Flame, in addition to the ability to run on both Linux® and macOS® operating systems, you will have access to the following additional capabilities:
