Inventor Excel Requirements

Starting in Inventor 2021, most spreadsheet-related operations now use an internal library for spreadsheet access. This change significantly improves the performance of large spreadsheet driven designs. The operations with improved performance are shown with a green checkmark in the table below.

Some Inventor operations still require the use of Excel and are indicated by a red ‘x’. These are non-time critical operations like editing a parameter spreadsheet.

iLogic and VBA can write Excel formulas, which may require re-calculating dependent spreadsheets. Recalculating spreadsheets requires full Excel. The GoExcel Application property in iLogic controls Excel formula evaluation.
