Autodesk Support

Dec 12, 2017

In BIM360 Field, equipment is often generated by Glue model mapping. These equipments can be enriched with additional data from various sources in Excel. It could be content from CRM systems or technical databases, also barcodes or locations.

As a pre-requisite, you should have created custom properties for the data you want to add via Excel

Assuming you already have created equipments from mapping a model, please follow this steps:

  •     Go to the issues tab to show the grid
  • Select the standard and custom properties you want to update in Excel; + Status and Type (these are obligatory)
  • Under 'More Actions' click on 'Export to Excel'
  • The resulting Excel file additionally shows a 'B3F ID' column, needed to switch into the update mode during import.
  • Enter your additional data into the Excel file
  • Under 'More Actions' click on 'Import"
  • The Dialog shows you messages on errors or success
  • The equipment list shows the enriched data
