Issue:

When trying to connect and log into a Vault Server, the following message is displayed:

<Productname> ...could not find the Data Management Services on... <servername>


Message showing the text Vault professional 2023 could not find data management services on

The message can be displayed:

  • Using Internet Information Server (IIS) Server Certificate (SSL).
  • It can be displayed using the following software:
    • Vault Basic.
    • Vault Workgroup.
    • Vault Professional.
    • Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, ...or any other CAD addin.
    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Autodesk Data Management Server Console.


The following message may also be displayed:

Vault Professional <VERSION> is not compatible with the following applications on <SERVER>.

Solution:

Use one of the following:

Repair does not solve or only one user affected

Use the troubleshooting steps in the following article: Troubleshooting Autodesk Vault Client to Server Connectivity issues.

The message occurs after a major Windows Update

Repair the installation of the Vault Server using the instructions in this article: Repairing, Uninstalling and Reinstalling the Vault Server software.
