Severity | CVSS Score | Impact |
---|---|---|
Low | 0.1 - 3.9 | A vulnerability where scope and impact of exploitation is restricted and the ability to exploit is extremely difficult. |
Medium | 4.0 - 6.9 | A vulnerability where exploitation is mitigated by factors such as difficulty to exploit, default configuration or ease of identification. |
High | 7.0 - 8.9 | A vulnerability, which if exploited, would directly impact the confidentiality, integrity or availability of user's data or processing resources. |
Critical | 9.0 - 10 | A vulnerability, which if exploited, would allow remote execution of malicious code without user action. |
The Autodesk® Backburner 2016 service command line interface accepts a set of remote telnet commands. When insufficient number of arguments are passed, it fails to handle a specific command request which results in an unhandled Null Dereference state/crash leading to Denial of Service condition.
The vulnerability exists in the dynamic link library libdlnrapi30.dll. This .dll is loaded by the Backburner manager.exe file. The service accepts remote telnet commands over TCP port 3234. The application does not properly handle the number of arguments passed to the specific remote command “set {argument} data {xml|list}”. When this command is passed with no arguments it results in a Null Dereference state/crash leading to a Denial of Service condition.
