As educators, do you have exciting projects or ideas that you want to reach out to industry for collaboration, mentorship, or support, but you run into barriers or have no idea how to do it? Or, as an industry person do you want to partner with academia to collaborate on your projects, test your products, and recruit a diverse workforce but you’re not sure how to do it or you don’t have an effective approach? This hands-on workshop will provide a set of best practices based on our successful collaboration. You’ll work in small groups to brainstorm approaches on how to form productive partnerships. You’ll walk away with an actionable plan to form the industry-academic collaboration/partnership that you can execute when you go home! You’ll also have the opportunity to network with other professionals.
