- Thom DirksThom Dirks is a Consultant AEC at Cadac group, and his experience excels in building projects, process, BIM and BIM soft skills. Software is an important part of BIM, but there is more that we should consider. What knowledge do both user and client have, as well what are the wishes of the client. Thom has worked with in various positions in the building industry from being a carpenter to BIM-manager from small to big organizations. His experience is everything from firsthand modeling to being a BIM-coordinator for multimillion projects. Thom joined Cadac group, first spending 8 years in the role of BIM-modeler, BIM-coordinator and BIM manager within the construction industry. With that experience I experienced that not only tooling but also mindset and soft skills are just as important within the industry we are operating in now. From this mindset I will always think about Management as well as the end-user level. The most important part is that it connects both sites at office level. and that project teams have enough knowledge for an optimal level of collaboration.
