In Revit, you can easily place lighting fixtures, check illumination parameters, and correct directional placement.

You can also work through a space that does not recognize lighting fixtures by creating a Room Calculation Point.

To begin, open the Level 1 – Ceiling Plan view to see the ceiling grid and associated lighting fixtures.

To place a lighting fixture, on the Systems ribbon, in the Electrical panel, click Lighting Fixture.

Select M_Pendant Light – Disk.

On the contextual ribbon, a Placement panel automatically appears, since the fixture is in a face-based family.

Select Place on Face, which allows you to place the lighting fixture in the ceiling of the linked model.

In the drawing area, place two lighting fixtures in the ceiling grid of a room.

To check the placement and direction of the fixtures, create a section view.

Place the section head and adjust the far clip plane so that it is just beyond the lighting fixtures.
