The Data Exchange Revit Connector allows you to create and share Data Exchanges to and from
00:09
other Autodesk and non-Autodesk applications.
00:12
Once you have downloaded and installed the connector, you can manage Data Exchanges from within Revit.
00:19
Start in Revit with a model open and Data Exchanges already created.
00:24
From the ribbon, Collaborate tab, Share panel, select Data Exchange.
00:31
In the Data Exchange dialog, you see a list of all Data Exchanges created from the current model or loaded into the model.
00:38
Any Data Exchange created from the open model has a symbol with an upward arrow next to its name,
00:45
while Data Exchanges loaded into the model have a downward facing arrow.
00:50
Next to any Data Exchange, click More (⋮) to access options specific to that exchange.
00:56
Select Update to update the Data Exchange based on the current state of your Revit model.
01:02
Click Select Elements, and the drawing updates, so that all the elements included in the Data Exchange are now selected.
01:10
If you select View on Web, a browser window opens to your Data Exchange via Autodesk Construction Cloud.
01:18
Close the browser window.
01:20
Click More (…) and select Copy Link to Exchange to copy the link to the Data Exchange to your clipboard.
01:27
Sharing this link enables others to view it on the web.
01:31
Note that a recipient needs to have appropriate permissions to view the Data Exchange
01:36
and must also be able to access the folder where it is stored.
01:40
Finally, to delete a Data Exchange, click More (…), and then select Delete.
01:46
A confirmation message displays.
01:49
Be aware that this will delete the Data Exchange both from your Revit model and Autodesk Docs,
01:55
meaning that anyone using it will lose access.
01:58
To confirm, click Yes to delete the Data Exchange.
02:02
Now you can use the Revit Connector to manage Data Exchanges directly in Revit.
