In Civil 3D,
00:05
you can use the Sheet Set Manager to organize, manage,
00:08
and plot sheet sets to arrange your project information efficiently and effectively.
00:13
To create or print sheet sets, you must first make sure you can reference your CAD standards in the cloud.
00:20
In this example, a project called Company CAD Standards has been created for this purpose.
00:25
As you can see in the project, under Project Files, a folder called Support Files contains Fonts, Line Types, Pen Tables,
00:36
and Sheet Set tables that make up the CAD standards.
00:40
You can store CAD standards in a single, universal project, as shown here, or you can store them in individual projects.
00:48
It is important to note that anyone who creates or plots sheet sets will need to be invited to the project that contains the CAD standards
00:56
and will require edit permission for the folders.
00:59
Begin with a new drawing open in Civil 3D.
01:02
On the ribbon, select the Home tab, expand the Palettes panel, and click Sheet Set Manager.
01:09
In the Sheet Set Manager, expand the drop-down and select New Sheet Set.
01:15
In the Create Sheet Set – Begin dialog, notice that you have the option to create a sheet set using an example sheet set,
01:22
using an existing drawing,
01:24
or the current selection—create a sheet set using a cloud example.
01:29
Note that to use this feature, you must have Civil 3D version 2023.1 or newer.
01:35
With “A cloud example sheet set” selected, click Next.
01:39
In the Create Sheet Set dialog, type the name—here, “Wesley Project”.
01:45
You also have the option to enter a Description.
01:49
Then, select the sheet set template in the drop-down, or, as in this example, click the folder icon to choose your own sheet set template.
01:58
In the Select Sheet Set Template dialog, select the account and then navigate to the sheet set file.
02:05
In this case, select the Company CAD Standards project,
02:08
and in the Project Files > Support Files > Sheet Sets folder, select SampProj.dst.
02:16
Click Select.
02:18
Remember that if you are using a specific sheet set template locally,
02:22
you can use that same template in the cloud by saving it in it.
02:26
Back in the Create Sheet Set dialog, you now need to tell Civil 3D where you want the new sheet set to be stored.
02:33
Click the folder icon, and in this case, navigate to the Project Files folder.
02:39
Select the checkbox next to Sheet Set, click Select, and then click Next.
02:46
You now see the contents of your sheet set, which you can scroll through to view custom properties.
02:51
Click Create.
02:53
Notice that the Sheet Set Manager changes to the Sheet Set Manager for Web palette, because the sheet set is created in the cloud.
03:00
They look a little different but function in the same way.
03:04
Select the sheet set and scroll to view and edit the Sheet Set Properties.
03:09
In this example, the Project name and number are updated.
03:13
To add custom properties, click Add (+) next to Sheet Set Properties.
03:18
From the drop-down, you can create a New sheet set property or New sheet property.
03:24
To add sheets, right-click the sheet set and select Import sheet.
03:30
In the Select drawings dialog, select the drawings with the layouts that you want to add, then click Select.
03:37
Once the layouts are extracted, select from the available layouts, and then click Import.
03:43
A message informs you that the import was successful.
03:47
If needed, you can rearrange the order of the sheets by dragging and dropping.
03:52
To create subsets, right-click the sheet set and select New subset.
03:57
Select New Subset, and in the properties, enter a name, such as “New Group”.
04:03
Once created, you can drag and drop a sheet into, or remove it from, a subset.
04:08
To open a sheet, double-click it.
04:11
On the sheet, you see the project name and project number.
04:15
To add the county, select the sheet set, scroll through Properties to find County, and type the county name.
04:23
Here, the REGEN command is used to update the sheet.
04:26
In the sheet view, pan and zoom to the sheet number in the lower right-hand corner.
04:32
To adjust the numbering, in the Sheet Set Manager, right-click Cover Sheet and select Rename and renumber.
04:39
In this example, adjust the Sheet number to 1.
04:43
Click Next, type 2,
04:46
click Next, type 3,
04:48
and then click OK.
04:51
Notice that the number updates in the Sheet Set Manager.
04:54
Use the REGEN command, and the number updates in the sheet as well.
04:59
When you work in the cloud, there is also an auto-renumber feature.
05:03
Right-click the sheet set and select Auto-numbering.
05:07
In the Auto Numbering dialog, you can set a Prefix, such as C for Civil or A for Architecture.
05:14
In this example, leave the prefix blank and then type a Start number, such as 10.
05:20
The numbers update in the Sheet Set Manager, and again, using REGEN updates the sheet.
05:25
Now you know how to use the Sheet Set Manager to create and edit a sheet set, which you can now transmit or publish.
