Publish sheet set to PDF

Use the Sheet Set Manager to publish a sheet set to PDF in the cloud.

00:03

The Sheet Set Manager in Civil 3D allows you to organize, manage,

00:08

and plot sheets to arrange your project information efficiently and effectively.

00:13

Once you have created a sheet set, you can easily publish the sheet set to PDF.

00:19

Begin with your sheet set created and the Sheet Set Manager open in Civil 3D.

00:24

Right-click the sheet set to view the sharing and publishing options,

00:28

which include eTransmit and the option to be used in this example, publish to PDF.

00:34

Before selecting this option, the application needs to know where the CAD standards are stored.

00:40

With the sheet set selected, in the Sheet Set Properties, expand the Support file location drop-down and click Browse.

00:48

Navigate to the folder with the CAD standards, and then select the checkbox next to Support Files.

00:55

Click Select.

00:57

The application searches the folders for applicable files and indexes them.

01:02

In the Sheet Set Manager, a message indicates the indexing was successful.

01:07

Close the message and Save your drawing.

01:10

Now you are ready to plot the sheets.

01:13

Right-click the sheet set and select Publish to PDF.

01:17

In the Publish Settings dialog, expand the Output format to plot the set as either a Single multi-page PDF file, as in this example,

01:26

or a Separate PDF for each page.

01:29

Change the name of the PDF, if needed, and set the location.

01:35

By default, the PDF will be saved to the sheet set folder, but you can click the folder icon to change the location.

01:42

You can also choose to version files with duplicate names,

01:46

but since this is the first time publishing the sheet set, this option is not needed.

01:51

Click Publish.

01:53

Note that when you publish sheets in the cloud, all of the processing happens in the cloud,

01:57

so it does not require bandwidth on your local machine.

02:01

Once complete, you see a message in the Sheet Set Manager indicating that publishing succeeded, and the PDF was uploaded.

02:09

Now, when you view your project in Autodesk Docs and open the Sheet Set folder, you see the published PDF.

02:16

Click the PDF to open it, and in this case, you can see the Details, General Notes, and Cover Sheet all included in the single PDF.
