Once you have prepared a layout for printing
00:06
before you actually send the drawing to the printer,
00:09
you should make sure that everything is set correctly
00:12
to do this. Right.
00:14
Click the furniture plan layout tab and select plot to open the plot dialogue.
00:21
Click cancel to close this dialogue.
00:24
You can also open the plot dialogue by switching to the output ribbon.
00:29
Then
00:30
in the plot panel, click the plot tool
00:36
or expand the application menu
00:39
and choose print
00:40
plot
00:44
or
00:44
on the quick access toolbar,
00:46
click plot
00:52
in the printer plotter group box in the name field.
00:55
Make sure that the proper device is selected.
00:59
If you followed the logical steps for creating and setting up a layout,
01:03
the print device and other settings should already
01:06
have been configured using the page setup manager.
01:10
But if you did not select the printer at that time
01:13
or if you see it was set incorrectly, you can change it. Now
01:18
for the purpose of this exercise,
01:20
the layout has been configured to print to a PDF
01:24
file using a printer driver that comes with autocad.
01:28
When you actually print a drawing,
01:30
you will want this to be set to the actual printer that you are going to use.
01:36
You should also double check to make sure that the paper size is also set correctly.
01:41
But again,
01:42
this is something that you would have likely
01:44
done already using the page setup manager.
01:47
When you establish the settings for this layout,
01:52
when plotting a paper space layout
01:54
in the plot area group box,
01:57
what to plot
01:58
will be set to lay out.
02:01
And in the plot scale group box, the scale will typically be set to 1 to 1
02:07
to reassure yourself that the drawing will print correctly. Click preview
02:13
to open a print preview window
02:16
here, you can make sure that the drawing will look correct on the printed sheet.
02:20
You can use tools in this window to pan and zoom.
02:25
But since this is just a preview, you cannot make any changes in this window.
02:32
If you are satisfied,
02:34
you can click the plot button right here
02:36
in the preview window to begin printing the drawing
02:39
or right click and select plot from the shortcut menu.
