Not only do projects typically consist of collections of multiple cross
00:08
reference sheets.
00:10
The drawings often include numerous other files such as external references,
00:14
images and fonts.
00:16
When you have completed a project,
00:18
you may want to archive the project and then remove
00:21
it from the drive on which you keep your active projects
00:25
rather than having to manually select all of the files used by the sheet set.
00:30
AUTOCAD includes an archive tool that automatically packages the drawings and all
00:36
of the associated files to a single folder or zip file.
00:41
When you use the archive tool,
00:43
you can rest assured that the archive contains all the necessary files.
00:49
Creating an archive set is very similar to creating a transmittal set.
00:53
But whereas the E transmit tool can be used with any drawing,
00:57
the archive tool only works with sheet sets.
01:02
You can access the archive tool either from
01:04
the sheet set manager or from the application menu
01:09
with the sheet set manager closed.
01:11
However, when you expand the application menu and choose publish archive,
01:16
the program displays an alert to inform you that no sheet set is open,
01:22
click OK, to close that alert,
01:27
open the sheet set manager
01:30
then click open,
01:33
navigate to the sheet set dash 05 folder
01:37
and open the DS T file.
01:40
Once the sheet set is open
01:43
to archive the sheet set,
01:45
you can use the application menu or right click the sheet set name and choose archive
01:54
note. However, that in order to archive the sheet set,
01:57
you must save or close any open sheet set drawings that have been edited.
02:03
Otherwise, when you attempt to use the archive tool,
02:07
the program will warn you that you must
02:08
first save the drawings that have been modified.
02:12
For example, double click the title sheet to open it
02:17
and then zoom in on the sheet list.
02:20
In the lower right,
02:23
in the sheet set manager,
02:25
right, click the sheet set title.
02:28
And in the shortcut menu select archive,
02:31
the program displays an alert which
02:34
indicates that archive cannot continue because
02:37
one or more of the drawings in the sheet set require saving
02:42
click OK, to close that alert,
02:45
then you can either save the drawing or simply close it.
02:50
In this case, simply close the title sheet drawing
02:53
and do not save any changes.
02:57
When creating an archive, you do not need to have any of the drawings open.
03:02
You simply need to open the sheet set.
