00:04
When you create view ports on a paper space layout,
00:07
you can also control what is displayed in each viewport.
00:11
So that only objects on specific layers are visible and appear in printed output.
00:18
The exercise file already includes three separate view
00:21
ports that display different portions of the model.
00:25
Each viewport displays the model space geometry at
00:28
a different scale and each has been locked.
00:31
So you cannot accidentally change the scale.
00:35
Suppose that you do not want to see the door and wall in the viewport in the
00:39
upper left and you do not want to see the furniture in the viewport in the lower left
00:46
on the home ribbon
00:47
in the layers panel.
00:49
When you expand the layer drop down and toggle off the walls layer,
00:54
that layer disappears from both viewpoints,
00:58
toggle that layer back on again.
01:01
Obviously, you need to use a different method,
01:05
double click inside the viewport in the upper left to make it the active viewport.
01:12
When working in a paper space viewport,
01:15
you can freeze individual layers within that viewport
01:19
without affecting their visibility in any other viewport.
01:24
Expand the layer drop down again
01:27
for the walls layer select freeze or Thaw in current viewport,
01:35
as soon as you do,
01:36
the walls layer disappears in that viewport but
01:40
remains visible in the other view ports.
01:44
Repeat this to freeze the doors layer within the current viewport.
01:50
Again,
01:51
the doors disappear in that viewport but remain visible in the other viewport.
01:58
Double click inside the lower left viewport to make it the active viewport
02:04
then expand the layer drop down again.
02:08
And for the furniture layer select freeze or thaw in current viewport
02:14
as soon as you do,
02:16
the furniture disappears in that viewport
02:19
but remains visible in the other views.
02:24
As you have seen,
02:25
you can freeze or thaw specific layers within
02:29
individual view ports on a viewport by viewport basis
02:33
to control the visibility of layers within each viewport.
02:38
Note that you can override other visual
02:40
properties in individual viewpoints as well.
02:44
For example, you could make objects appear using different colors,
02:48
using different line types or using different line
02:51
weights on a viewport by viewport basis,
02:56
double click outside the viewport to return to paper space.
