Place rebar in your Revit model using two points to define the dimensions of the bar or extents of the set.

In Revit, you can add reinforcement elements, such as rebar, to your model.

The By Two Points placement option allows you to place rebar by clicking two points to define the extent of the rebar.

On the Structure ribbon, expand the Reinforcement panel and select Reinforcement Settings.

If your rebar shape definition requires hooks,

be sure to specify it here before you place any rebar, because this cannot be changed later in the design process.

When finished, click Close.

Open the Section 1 view, which cuts through the floor and a beam.

In the model, click the beam you want to host the rebar.

To place the rebar, on the Structure ribbon, in the Reinforcement panel, click Rebar to activate the Structural Rebar tool.

Or, you can select a valid host element in the model and access the Rebar tool from the contextual tab.

Next, on the Modify | Place Rebar contextual tab, in the Placement Methods panel, select By Two Points.

Then, in the Placement Orientation panel, select Parallel to Work Plane to place the bar plane parallel to your current work plane.

Next, in the Rebar Shape Browser, select the rebar shape you want.

To place the rebar, hover your cursor inside a valid host, click to place the starting point,

then drag outward to define the dimensions of the bar.

You do not need to hold down the mouse button.

When the bar is sized as you want it, click again,
