Sheet sets are a great way to organize and access
00:07
all the drawings you create to document a project.
00:10
But sheet sets can do much more than that.
00:13
Suppose you were in the middle of working on a drawing for a new project.
00:16
When you received a request to plot a copy
00:19
of the drawings to a completely different project.
00:22
If you had not used sheet sets to organize and manage that earlier project,
00:26
you would likely have to stop what you were doing.
00:29
Navigate to the folder containing the drawings for that earlier project.
00:33
Open each drawing, select the proper layouts and then plot each drawing
00:38
as you do this other members of the project team who tried to open drawings from that
00:43
earlier project might discover that they cannot work on
00:46
those drawings because since you have opened them,
00:50
the drawing files are locked.
00:52
But by using sheet sets,
00:54
you can significantly reduce the amount of time you spend plotting your drawings.
00:58
Even if you are unfamiliar with the project,
01:01
you can quickly print the entire sheet set
01:04
without having to open and view each drawing file.
01:08
And your coworkers can continue editing the drawings while you use
01:12
the sheet set manager to send the entire set of sheets
01:15
to the default plot device.
01:18
Assuming each sheet has been saved with the proper page set up.
01:22
For example, suppose you are working on the floor plan for a new office building.
01:28
When your boss asks you to print a new set of drawings for the townhouse project
01:34
open, the sheet set manager. If it is not already open
01:39
in the sheet set manager, click open,
01:43
navigate to the sheet set dash 05 folder,
01:47
select the townhouse dot DS T file
01:51
and click open.
01:53
Even though you have not actually opened any of the drawings,
01:57
you can plot the entire sheet set
01:59
a
01:60
subset
02:01
individual sheets
02:03
or any sheets. You select
02:05
for example to print all of the sheets in the sheet set,
02:10
right? Click the sheet set title
02:13
and choose publish,
02:15
published to plotter.
02:18
The program quickly prints all of the sheets
02:21
in the entire sheet set to the device specified
02:25
in the page set up for each sheet.
02:34
Suppose you only wanted to print the sheets in a particular subset,
02:39
right? Click the architectural subset and choose publish, publish to plotter.
02:46
This time, the program prints just those four sheets.
02:55
You can also print just the individual sheets. You select,
02:59
you can use the shift and control keys to specify a range or specific sheets.
03:05
For example,
03:06
suppose you only needed to print the two architectural floor plan sheets,
03:11
press control and select those two sheets
03:15
then right click and choose, publish, publish to plotter.
03:21
This time only the sheets you selected are printed.
