Sheet sets are a great way to organize and access all of
00:07
the many drawings that you create to document a particular project.
00:11
But what happens if you forgot to include some drawings.
00:14
When you first created the sheet set
00:17
or perhaps a consultant just sent you a new drawing.
00:21
You can use the sheet set manager to import
00:24
additional drawing layouts into an existing sheet set.
00:28
Since the sheets in the sheet set are really nothing
00:31
more than shortcuts or pointers to layouts in drawings.
00:35
When you import a new layout,
00:37
you are simply creating a new pointer to an existing drawing.
00:42
Open the sheet set manager. If it is not already open
00:47
in the sheet set manager,
00:48
click open,
00:51
navigate to the sheet set dash 04 folder,
00:55
select the townhouse dot DS T file
00:59
and click open
01:03
to import a new sheet
01:05
in the sheet set manager.
01:07
You would right click on the sheet list and choose import layout as sheet
01:13
note that where you right click determines where the
01:16
new sheet will be added to the sheet list.
01:20
If you right click on the sheet set name,
01:23
the new sheet will be added to the end of the sheet list.
01:26
If you right click on a subset, the new sheet will be added to the end of the subset.
01:33
If you right click on a sheet,
01:36
the new sheet will be added below that sheet.
01:39
Of course, regardless of where you right click,
01:42
you can always drag and drop the new sheet to the proper location.
01:48
Suppose you just received a framing plan from the structural engineer
01:53
before you add that sheet,
01:55
add a structural subset.
01:58
Right? Click on the sheet list and choose new subset
02:03
in the subset properties. Dialogue, click in the subset name, field
02:09
name the new subset, structural
02:15
and then click, OK,
02:18
right. Click the structural subset and choose import layout as sheet
02:25
in the import layout as sheets dialogue, click browse for drawings,
02:31
navigate to the sheet set dash 04 folder,
02:36
select all of the sheets
02:39
and then click open
02:43
note that in the status column,
02:45
you can see that all but one of the layouts already belongs to
02:50
a sheet set and therefore cannot be added to any other sheet set.
02:55
Thus, only the roof framing plan
02:58
has been selected.
03:00
You also have the option to prefix the sheet title with the file name,
03:05
leave this check box cleared,
03:10
click import, checked.
03:13
The roof framing plan has been added to the sheet list,
03:17
right? Click that sheet
03:19
and choose rename and renumber to open the rename and renumber sheet dialogue
03:27
in the number field
03:29
number, the sheet S dash 01
03:33
and then click. Ok.
03:35
The roof framing plan has been added to the sheet set.
