So looking at our internal layout
00:06
to assign an object to be demolished, we can either select it
00:09
and then from its properties,
00:10
just choose the phase demolished to be the new construction phase.
00:14
When we apply this,
00:16
it will be shown as a demolished object.
00:18
An alternative way of doing this is to go to the modify ribbon tab.
00:22
And from the geometry panel, choose the demolish tool.
00:26
We can then select an object
00:28
and then that object will be set to be demolished in the current phase.
00:33
And as we've chosen a wall,
00:34
any hosted objects such as these two doors will also be demolished.
00:38
I'll choose this door to be demolished too.
00:40
And we can see that a new section of wall is
00:43
placed in the opening where the door has been removed from.
00:48
So we'll add a new door in to access the two rooms.
00:52
So from the architecture ribbon tab, we'll choose the door tool.
00:56
We'll add a door into this room here
01:01
and one into this room down here.
01:04
You see that's also demined a small section of existing wall
01:08
in order to create the opening for the new doors.
01:11
Now, finally, we'll just add some new wall here.
01:13
So choose the wall tool from the architecture riven tab
01:16
and we'll just add
01:17
the petition across here
01:20
to separate out those rooms.
01:23
So that's our layout complete.
01:25
We'll go back to the level one existing view to see that that
01:28
hasn't changed as the existing objects are still as we've left them.
01:33
And the level one new view is shown us
01:35
our demolished objects as well as our new objects.
01:39
In order to create a temporary object,
01:41
we need to add that in to the new phase.
01:43
So if we needed to create a temporary petition around this area,
01:46
while we carried out the demolitions,
01:48
we go to the architecture ribbon tab and choose the
01:51
ball to,
01:52
we choose a different wall type.
01:55
And I'll sketch this in where we need it for our temporary petition.
02:04
And now to make it a temporary object, we need to demolish it
02:07
in the same phase that it's been created in.
02:10
So it's been created in the new construction phase.
02:12
We'll go to the modified ribbon tab from the jump panel,
02:15
we'll choose the demolished tool
02:17
and demolish the new wall that we've just built.
02:20
And this then sets this to be a temporary object.
02:24
So with it selected from its properties, we can see it's both created
02:27
and demolished in the same new construction phase.
02:31
So this current view is showing us all of our objects and their different status.
02:36
We have an existing view.
02:38
So we'd like to share a view with the completed design.
02:41
So to do this, we'll duplicate the level one new view
02:46
and we'll rename this to be level one complete.
02:51
So this level one complete view has the new construction phase assigned.
02:55
And now we've changed the phase filter from show
02:57
all to show complete.
02:59
When we apply this,
03:01
we can see the demolished and the temporary objects have been switched
03:03
off and that the existing and new objects are displayed by category.
03:08
So now we can see our new internal
03:10
layout without the demolished objects cluttering the view.
03:14
And this makes it useful for us to compare these views.
03:17
So we'll go to sheet a 101.
03:20
This is currently a blank drawing sheet.
03:22
So now I'll come back to the views and we'll
03:24
find level one existing and place this on the sheet.
03:29
We can choose the level one complete and place this next to it for a comparison.
03:34
And to help us understand the extent of works,
03:36
we can take the level one new view
03:40
and place this
03:42
which will show where our demolitions and temporary works need to take place.
