Introducing Multi Solute Water Quality

Describe how the Multi Solute Water Quality feature in InfoWorks WS Pro allows for the modelling of complex reactions.

The multi solute water quality (MSQ) function in InfoWorks WS Pro allows users to model complex reactions between multiple chemical and biological species.

A presentation slide with key points about the multi solute water quality function—for example, MSQ can model several interacting chemicals, and it can run at the same time as basic water quality simulations.

The reactions for MSQ models are reported in terms of mass, rather than stoichiometry.

A presentation slide displays information on typical uses of MSQ reporting, how equations are defined, and reaction rates.

MSQ is run within the water quality simulation. There are five types of results: three for links, and two for reservoirs and nodes:

A presentation slide displays the five types of MSQ results, with three types for links—average surface, peak surface, and peak concentration—and two for reservoirs and nodes—dissolved and source concentration.

For each of these types of results, there will be multiple occurrences, one for each solute.

InfoWorks WS MSQ allows you to implement your own equations to efficiently model reactive constituents.
