And we're looking at the level one existing view
00:06
which shows the existing layout of this building.
00:10
And it's proposed that we'll build an extension around the corner here
00:14
and also carry out some changes to the internal layout in this area here
00:19
to help us manage this, we'll use the phases.
00:22
So from the manage ribbon tab
00:24
on the phase in panel, we can choose phases.
00:28
And here we can see we have two phases within this project,
00:30
an existing and new construction phase,
00:34
these are created in time order to receive past at the top and future at the bottom.
00:40
We have the option to insert more phases either before or after the current phase
00:46
and combine phases with the previous or next phase. Should we need to,
00:51
we have phase filters
00:52
and this allows us to control the display of objects.
00:56
We can see that phase in assigns either new,
00:58
existing demolished or temporary status to our objects.
01:03
And then the filter will control how each of those objects will be displayed.
01:08
So for example, the shell
01:09
phase filter
01:11
will leave new objects to be displayed by category.
01:15
However, it will override the existing demolished and temporary objects
01:20
where the show complete filter
01:22
will leave both the new and the existing objects to be displayed by category
01:26
and it will turn off the demolished and the temporary objects.
01:30
So they not displayed in the view
01:32
where an object is set to be overridden.
01:34
Those overrides are defined in the graphic overrides tab.
01:38
And we can see the existing objects are set to
01:40
be grayed out slightly with their cart patterns hidden,
01:44
demolished objects are turned red with dashed lines.
01:47
And once again, their cart patterns are switched off.
01:50
If a new object is overridden, it's shown in black but with a black solid fill
01:55
and temporary objects are shown in blue
01:58
with a diagonal hatch pattern.
02:01
So we choose OK to this and go back to our existing view
02:04
looking at the properties of the view
02:07
at the bottom. Here, we have a phase in panel
02:10
and we can see that the phase of this view is set existing
02:13
and the phase filter is show all
02:16
selecting some of our objects
02:18
and looking at their properties. We can see that these objects have been created
02:22
in the existing phase
02:24
and this wall currently
02:26
has not been demolished
02:27
when we create a new object. In a view,
02:29
the object will inherit the phase of that view.
02:33
So as this is an existing view,
02:34
if I go to the architecture ribbon tab and choose to create a wall,
02:38
and I'll just create a wall between these ones here.
02:42
Now when I select this wall,
02:44
we can see that that's adopted the existing phase of the view that it was created in
02:48
looking at the area where we're going to build our extension.
02:51
If I select one of the windows,
02:53
we can see that this has been created in the existing phase.
02:56
However, it's also been demolished in the new construction phase.
03:01
So we'll go to the level one new view
03:05
and we can see now that those windows are shown red as per the show
03:09
all phase filter
03:10
as they've been set to be demolished. In this phase.
03:13
We can also see the extension has already been created
03:17
and selecting one of these objects.
03:18
We can see that that's created in the new construction phase.
03:22
And is it created in that phase?
03:24
It won't be visible in the existing view
03:27
because it's been created in a future phase.
