When we're creating a complex model,
00:06
we often get warnings left within rev
00:08
and to show how this might happen,
00:10
I'll go to the floor four plan view
00:13
zooming into the stairs here.
00:16
We need to add a fire break wall across the corridor here.
00:20
So we'll choose some existing wall
00:22
and then from the modify ribbon, we'll choose to create similar,
00:26
we'll draw some more
00:27
across the corridor.
00:29
And if I draw it just a little bit too long,
00:33
then it starts to overlap with the wall above here.
00:36
And we get a warning telling us that highlighted walls will overlap
00:40
and that one of those may be ignored when
00:43
Rick finds room boundaries
00:45
and that we can use the cut geometry tool
00:47
to embed one wall within another if appropriate.
00:51
However, we can ignore this warning,
00:53
we can dismiss it and carry on working so we can go back to our architecture tab
00:57
and continue to place our door within the corridor.
01:01
And if we don't resolve that issue, then that warning stays with those objects.
01:06
So every time we come back and pick one of these walls
01:09
from the modify ribbon, we can see we have the show related warnings option.
01:14
When we select this,
01:15
we can see that highlighted walls overlap error
01:20
and then the two walls that are involved in that which we can pick and highlight.
01:24
In order to remove this warning from the project,
01:28
we need to actually resolve it in the model.
01:31
So if I select this wall
01:32
and stretch it back so that it no longer overlaps and is in the correct position
01:37
when we resect it,
01:38
then that review warnings
01:40
option will have disappeared because that warning
01:43
is no longer persistent on these objects.
01:46
As we edit the model and make changes to our design,
01:49
it's inevitable that we will receive warnings and
01:52
that they will persist within the model.
01:53
So from the manage driven tab on the inquiry panel,
01:57
we can choose warnings
01:59
and we can see the warnings that are still current within the project.
02:03
So we have several here
02:05
and expanding these out,
02:06
we can see sometimes there's multiple versions of the same warning.
02:11
So to review these from here, we can choose a specific warning
02:15
and then use the show button.
02:17
We get a message to let us know that
02:19
we can use our standard view commands. Whilst this dialog box is open
02:24
and that each time we press the show,
02:26
you'll go and find a view that's relevant to those objects.
02:29
And each time we press it, we'll get a new view open.
02:33
And also that we may need to change the shading mode to actually see those objects.
02:38
So we choose clothes
02:41
and now it's prompting us that it will need to go
02:42
and search through the project browser to find a good view.
02:45
So we'll stay ok to continue.
02:48
And we can see now that it's opened up the floor two floor plan,
02:51
which is where these rooms relate to
02:53
expanding out. One in one.
02:55
We can see we have office number 13
02:57
and also office number 14.
02:59
And it looks like a petition has been removed between the two offices,
03:03
but the room has not been deleted and updated.
03:07
We can choose one and two. And actually, we can see that highlighted in the interview
03:11
and we can use our zoom tools and pan tools so we can just pan across
03:16
and roll the mouse wheel to zoom out.
03:19
Now, we can see that we also have a lobby room
03:21
and the open work area and both of these are still overlapping.
03:25
So from here, we can actually choose to delete the rooms that we no longer need.
03:29
So we can check the lobby room and check one of the offices
03:33
and then if we choose, delete,
03:34
checked those rooms will be deleted and the warnings box dismissed.
03:39
However,
03:39
we do get another warning telling us that
03:42
we need to delete those rooms from the schedule
03:45
as they've been deleted from the model, but not actually from the schedule.
03:49
So we'll ignore this and deal with this later.
03:52
And now when we go back to review the warnings.
03:56
We can see the warnings about the rooms has now
03:58
disappeared as it's no longer a problem in the model.
04:01
We have identical instances in the same place. So let's expand that out.
04:06
Once again, we can see that we have two pieces of furniture.
04:10
So let's choose one and two and choose show.
04:13
And then when we close that down, it jumps to that furniture,
04:15
which is actually also on floor two,
04:19
Tuesday morning, three, we can see that highlighted and that's the desk opposite.
04:24
So that's probably been created when we've been laying out the
04:26
furniture and we've accidentally copied one desk on top of another.
04:30
So once again, we can check two of these
04:33
and we won't delete those just yet. We'll review some of the other warnings.
04:38
So scrolling down, we can see we have an insert conflict with joined walls.
04:41
So let's expand that one out.
04:44
And actually, we have quite a few of these.
04:46
So really what we'd need to run through all of these to check the individual warning,
04:50
but we'll choose one of these and then choose show.
04:54
We can see the window that's involved, highlighted and the wall inside.
04:58
But let's just show once more.
05:02
And this time it opens up another view
05:04
and we can see that. Now we're looking at a wall that meets a window
05:08
and that's actually ok.
05:10
That's part of the design
05:11
and we'll resolve this when we detail how that junction works.
05:16
Let's try another one in here. So warn in 22
05:19
we see that actually there's a wall and a door involved in this one.
05:22
So we'll choose this and then choose show
05:26
and then show once more.
05:29
And now we can see on floor three here
05:32
that this wall and door are conflicting and we need to resolve this issue.
05:37
So remembering that we've also got our furniture checked.
05:40
We'll choose, delete, checked to get rid of those tables.
05:44
And we're left now looking at the issue between this
05:46
wall and the door and we need to decide,
05:48
should we move the door or move the wall?
05:51
So in this instance, I'll choose the door and move that.
05:55
And now when we select the wall, we can see this no longer has a related warning
05:59
and neither does the door.
06:01
So going back to our warnings,
06:04
we see we still have a number of warnings here
06:06
and we need to determine if these warnings need resolving
06:10
or whether it's something that's just part of the model that we have to live with.
06:14
And the only way we can do this is to select each one of these
06:17
and show and review that
06:19
and make a decision based on our own design as
06:22
to whether that's acceptable or whether it needs fixing.
06:25
If we're working with a larger design team, we can export the warnings out
06:29
and this will create a html file which will list
06:32
out all of the warnings and the objects involved,
06:35
which may help us discuss this in team meetings.
