Transition to Autodesk BIM Solutions

Established in 1987, ENOIA SA is a multi-disciplinary engineering  and project development consultancy company with a proven track record of over 35 years in engineering excellence. The Group’s global network includes engineering excellence centers in Athens, Cairo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Chennai, providing a comprehensive range of services in diverse markets and industries in the fields of Energy, Water/Infrastructure and Industrial.

AutoCAD was the main design software for the architecture and civil engineering department of the company in Greece. However, the need to collaborate with other departments within the company that had already adopted 3d modelling processes in design, combined with the global trend of modernizing projects using BIM and the mandatory application of these processes, confirmed the necessity of upgrading the staff's knowledge and adapting working methods to the new and challenging conditions.

After discussions with ENOIA SA executives we concluded that the working team needed to be trained to:

1. Create integrated architectural and structural 3D models that would include information about structure, installations, and materials, allowing the staff to work with increased precision and gain a better visual understanding of the project.
2. Collaborate in real-time among employees of different disciplines, enabling swift exchange of information among team members, even if they are located in remote places.

Following consultations to understand business needs, ATC OIONEI has taken on the role of training staff with a targeted and specialized training program to learn Autodesk Revit, providing appropriate guidance on effective workflows.
The course content was tailored to meet the specific needs of ENOIA SA, covering both architectural and structural skills in the design, analysis, and documentation of 3D models. This transition is expected to bring significant benefits to the company, including:

1. Improved Performance and Accuracy: The ability for automatic updates across all levels of the model in Revit ensures continuous coordination and precision in case of changes.
2. Efficient Collaboration: Revit's collaboration structure facilitates multiple team members working simultaneously on the same project, enhancing overall efficiency.
3. Compliance with Industry Standards: In cases where the company collaborates on projects requiring adherence to professional standards, the use of Revit may be essential to meet these requirements.
4. Time and Resource Savings: The automated processes of Revit can lead to time savings during the design and development phases of projects.
   
   

Despite the short period that has elapsed since the training completion (just three months), members of the ENOIA working team have already started working on some projects exclusively in Revit and realizing they themselves the benefits that the software provides. They achieved significant time savings during the design process and more efficient collaboration with engineers from other disciplines.

ENOIA has successfully transitioned from AutoCAD to Autodesk Revit, driven by the need to embrace collaborative BIM processes and adhere to global trends and industry standards. A key success factor in this shift was the selection of Autodesk Authorized Training Center OIONEI as the training partner. Through targeted Revit training, specifically tailored to ENOIA's needs, ATC OIONEI played a pivotal role in equipping the staff with the necessary skills for 3D modeling in both architectural and structural domains. A smooth transition was achieved where ENOIA harnessed the full potential of Revit, leading to early project adoption and tangible benefits, such as improved performance, streamlined collaboration, and significant time savings.
