Transformation and Reinvention: Making the Future at AU 2024

How are you using new technologies like AI to not only transform your work and your workflows, but to reinvent your business? How are you connecting your people, processes, and projects from design to manufacturing, script to screen, from concept to construction? How are you making the future and building a better world for people, communities, and the planet we share?

AU 2024 was the place to be this week to explore fresh and innovative answers to these questions, connect with the industry innovators who are driving change, and build the skills to put new possibilities into action. Over the course of three days, nearly 12,000 Design and Make professionals from the fields of architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and media and entertainment converged in beautiful San Diego with a common goal: Making the Future. Thanks to everyone who was here in-person and online.

The week started with General Session Day 1, as Autodesk President and CEO Andrew Anagnost, joined by Autodesk CTO Raji Arasu, shared how digital transformation is enabling companies in the Design and Make industries to reinvent their business models and unlock new kinds of value at the intersection of these industries. We also learned about the latest and upcoming developments with Autodesk AI—from Autodesk Assistant to Project Bernini.

On Tuesday afternoon in the Autodesk Platform Services Keynote, we learned about the latest developments with APS, the foundation for our industry clouds, and explored how developers and decision makers can unlock new value from their data by automating processes, reducing costs, and reimagining workflows.

Wednesday kicked off with the General Session Day 2, as Jeff Kinder, Executive Vice President, D&M, Diana Colella, Executive Vice President, M&E, and Amy Bunszel, Executive Vice President, AEC shared what transformation and reinvention look like across the Design and Make industries. They shared the latest updates to our product portfolio and explored what’s ahead for the Autodesk industry clouds—Forma, Fusion, and Flow.

The AECO Industry Keynote explored how leaders and innovators are using the latest features in Autodesk products and Autodesk Forma to meet the most pressing industry challenges—from a labor shortage and siloed data to carbon impact and waste. Check out the key announcements for AECO.

The Construction Industry Keynote showcased examples of what’s possible when you connect your construction processes across the entire building lifecycle, from pre-construction to operations—and shared the latest updates to Autodesk Construction Cloud.

The Media & Entertainment Industry Keynote highlighted the latest updates on Flow and shared how the Autodesk product portfolio can help you improve your production pipeline without disrupting it, whether your focus is games or film and TV. Check out the key announcements for media and entertainment.

In the Design & Manufacturing Industry Keynote, we learned how companies are using data to become more innovative, agile, and efficient and heard about important updates to Autodesk Fusion and our entire product portfolio. Check out the key announcements for design and manufacturing.

In the Expo, we explored incredible projects from across the Design and Make industries—including human-centered design processes from MASS Design’s Abundant Futures Lab, renewable maritime energy efforts from CalWave and Aloft, EV innovation from Vayve Mobility, industrialized construction advances from WSP, and the Fusion Factory Experience.

There were more than 34 talks in the AU Theater, and more than 650 learning sessions throughout the week. Most of those sessions will soon be available on demand on the AU website.

And while all this learning is central to the AU experience, the connections forged at the conference were just as important. In the Community Zone, in Meetups and activities, during receptions and parties, Design and Make professionals, leaders, and experts shared insights, discussed common challenges, and exchanged new approaches that can help the entire AU community move forward. And they had fun, too!

It was an incredible week of learning and connection. Stay tuned for updates on the on-demand content!
