Description
Watch as futurists, researchers, educators, Autodesk executives and senior leaders from enterprise accounts explore the future of work. From AR/VR and machine learning to future work trends and hiring new talent, the AU 2016 Leadership Forum included Geoff Colvin, an award-winning thinker, author, and broadcaster, who explored today’s most significant trends in business. Colvin is an editor and columnist for FORTUNE magazine. His latest book is Humans Are Underrated: What High Achievers Know that Brilliant Machines Never Will.
Jon Pittman, Autodesk VP, Corporate Strategy, and his team discussed the need to re-evaluate relationships with our machine creations. While Randy Swearer, Autodesk VP, Education, discussed changes in education and how those in today’s economy might compete for next generation employees.
Danny Guillory, Autodesk Director, Global Diversity and Inclusion, facilitated a discussion with guest speakers and attendees on building a team of tech-savvy, lifelong learners. And Mickey McManus, Autodesk Fellow and author of Trillions, introduced an exercise in design thinking to identify some next steps in building the future of work for your organization and team.
We also heard stories of trial and success from leaders at Ford, GE, Arup, the Department of Defense, and elsewhere. Before Callan Carpenter, Autodesk VP, Global Named Accounts wrapped up the day.

- MMMickey McManusMickey McManus is Chairman & Principal at MAYA Design and is currently a visiting Research Fellow at Autodesk. He is a pioneer in the field of collaborative innovation, pervasive computing, human-centered design, and education; and he holds 9 patents in the area of connected products, vehicles, and services. Mickey co-authored the widely respected and award-winning book Trillions: Thriving in the Emerging Information Ecology (Wiley 2012). At Autodesk, Mickey is exploring the implications for design, business, technology, and education of a future where computing ceases to be confined to any particular, "box," but instead is freely accessible in the ambient environment. Some call this coming age the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) or the era of Pervasive Computing and characterize it as a time when atoms and bits combine to form a new kind of information ecology. As part of these explorations, Mickey has been wandering around Autodesk, asking questions, fostering conversations, learning by making stuff whenever possible, and digging deeply into Autodesk products and research initiatives, to learn (and to help us understand) where Autodesk is going, and how we can be an integral part in cultivating a future where innovators can thrive and their efforts are in essence "born trillions-ready."
