- RARyland AuburnRyland's passion for exploring the intersection of design and technology is what led him to the field of design technology. Leveraging his professional degree in Architecture, Ryland's first major assignment in the realm of BIM management was leading the Digital Design practice for Gensler's eight offices in the Asia region, headquartered in Shanghai, China from 2011-2017. After successfully establishing a BIM-focused practice there, Ryland returned to his home in Chicago to lead the BIM implementation strategy on one of the largest commercial real estate projects in the country, the conversion of the historic Old Chicago Main Post Office into nearly 300,000 square feet of office and retail space. After successfully completing that project, Ryland had the opportunity to re-locate to the vibrant city of New Orleans to lead the digital design practice for an AIA Firm of the Year, EskewDumezRipple+. Finally, the opportunity arose to join the dynamic firm OTJ, and excited by the opportunity to build a new digital design practice, Ryland joined the team working out of the Chicago office. Recent projects at OTJ include the new Hilton Headquarters and a bio-tech office buildout in the Bay Area.
