AU 2022 Highlights for Architects
The architect’s job straddles the line between art and science, form and function, the aesthetic and the pragmatic. New technologies can help you visualize, simulate, assess, and design. How do you discover what’s possible in your field and harness the latest tools to advance your practice and your career?
AU 2022 is the place to connect, learn, share, and grow. Whether it’s taking a deep dive into data, simulating embodied carbon, or creating digital twins, there will be an area to explore that can help you not just stay afloat but get ahead. There’s still time to register. Here’s what architects have to look forward to at AU 2022:
General Sessions and industry keynotes
The conference kicks off with General Session Day 1, where Autodesk President and CEO Andrew Anagnost will share how moving collaboration and data to the cloud can help create solutions to the disruptions we face today. And General Session Day 2 will feature business leaders across industries sharing how they’ve handled digital transformation—and navigated the journey to new skillsets, toolsets, and ultimately, new mindsets. And don’t miss the Autodesk Excellence Awards ceremony on Tuesday at 5:30 PM for a chance to see some of the most innovative projects in architecture, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, and media.

Beyond the classroom
In addition to all the great learning content, there will be many ways to connect with your community, like:
- Meetups—Meetups are a great way to make a personal connection, share tips and best practices, find out how your peers are handling disruption, and build your network through personal support. Check out the Design Smart Meetup: Create, Analyze, and Iterate with Revit and Spacemaker. Or the Extended Reality Meetup where you can check out the latest demo of The Wild.
- Activities and receptions—Don’t miss the Spacemaker Design Slam on Wednesday evening. And check out other opportunities to build your professional network from the Women at AU Reception on Tuesday evening to La Grande Soirée on Thursday night.
- Industry zones—Discover how technologies and digitized approaches are enabling us to design in more efficient and sustainable ways in the Architecture, Building Engineering & Civil Infrastructure Zone in the Expo. Explore the winning design for the urban landscape around Notre Dame in VR, interact with a new train station in AR, and find out how BIM data is becoming an essential material for better building.
