Control the multileader style

Control the appearance of multileaders using multileader styles.

00:04

You can control the appearance of multi leaders by using a multi leader style.

00:09

However,

00:10

multi leader styles work a bit differently from

00:12

the way the appearance of text is controlled by

00:15

a textile or the way the appearance of

00:17

a dimension is determined by its dimension style.

00:20

This is because changing the multi leader style definition does not

00:24

affect any multi leaders that are already in the drawing.

00:28

But when you need to place some multi leaders

00:30

that include blocks and others that include text,

00:33

it is much more efficient to create a multi leader style for each type

00:37

and then use them rather than changing the multi leader options on the fly,

00:42

defining several different multi leader styles.

00:45

Also makes it easier to maintain a consistent look to your drawings

00:50

on the annotate ribbon

00:52

in the leaders panel.

00:54

When you expand the multi leader style drop down,

00:56

you can see that the drawing includes two predefined multi leader styles standard

01:02

and annotative.

01:04

Since multi leaders are created using the current style,

01:07

you should select the desired style.

01:09

Before starting the multi leader tool,

01:12

you can also create your own custom multi layer

01:15

styles

01:17

to create or modify a multi leader style

01:20

on the annotate ribbon

01:22

in the leaders panel,

01:23

click the dialogue box launcher to open the multi leader style manager

01:30

in the styles group box, you see a list of multi liter styles that already exist.

01:36

You can expand the drop down below this list to filter the list to

01:40

show all styles or just those that have already been used in the drawing.

01:46

You can then select one of the styles in the list

01:49

and then click set current to make that the current style.

01:54

You can also select any style in the list,

01:57

right click and then make it the current style, modify the style,

02:02

rename the style or delete the style

02:05

note that you cannot rename or delete the standard style.
