Since you have not yet used the new dimension style, the drawing does not change.
00:09
But if you change the style associated with any existing dimension,
00:13
that dimension will immediately change to reflect the new style.
00:17
For example,
00:18
use a crossing window to select several of the horizontal linear dimensions.
00:23
On the annotate ribbon,
00:25
you can see that these dimensions were
00:27
created using the annotative dimension style.
00:31
When you expand the dimension style drop down and select arch dash W dash alt
00:37
the appearance of the dimensions you selected immediately update
00:41
because they now use the new dimension style
00:44
press escape to deselect those dimensions.
00:49
Open the dimension style manager dialogue. Again
00:53
in the styles list,
00:55
you can see that arch dash W dash alt is the current dimension style
01:00
click modify to open the modify dimension style dialogue.
01:05
The controls are identical to those used when creating a new dimension style.
01:10
If you change any of the properties of an existing dimension style,
01:14
all existing dimension objects that were created using
01:18
that style update automatically to reflect your change.
01:22
For example, since the alternate units represent millimeters,
01:27
it would be helpful to include this information
01:30
on the alternate units tab
01:32
in the alternate units group box, click in the suffix field and type
01:38
mm
01:40
click OK to close the modified dimension style dialogue
01:44
and then click close to close the dimension style manager.
01:48
As soon as you do all the dimensions that use the arch
01:52
dash W dash alt dimension style immediately update throughout the entire drawing.
