Forma-Revit interoperability enables you to easily compare analysis results for different versions of a proposal
00:10
using the visual compare mode in Forma.
00:13
For example, you can set up a side-by-side comparison of sun hours between a Revit design and a Forma design.
00:20
Begin with a Forma version and a Revit version of your proposal already created.
00:26
If needed, first run the analysis that you wish to compare on each version.
00:30
In this example, to run the analysis on the Revit version, in the Navigator, select the Forma Revit link proposal.
00:39
In the right panel, select Sun hours, then click Run Analysis.
00:45
The analysis completes quickly.
00:48
Now, in the top bar, click Compare, and then select the items you wish to compare.
00:54
In this case, expand the available analyses under the Forma Revit link proposal.
00:60
Select Sun hours to add it to the left view.
01:03
Repeat these steps for the Forma version proposal, selecting Sun hours to add it to the right view.
01:10
The designs display side-by-side.
01:12
Notice that both designs update accordingly as you rotate and zoom.
01:17
In the analysis panel for each design, you can find options for comparison.
01:23
For these analyses, you can select different dates and time intervals, as well as compare direct sun on the ground.
01:30
Use the Inspection tool to see analysis results for specific points on your design.
01:36
Select Inspect, or press the keyboard shortcut: “I”, and then click specific locations on the canvas.
01:44
Notice that when you click in one view, the corresponding sun hours display for the selected points on both design views.
01:51
The compare mode in Forma enables easy comparison of analysis results between Revit and Forma versions of a design,
01:59
providing valuable insights to help you make informed decisions throughout the design process.

Forma-Revit interoperability enables the comparison of analysis results for different versions of a proposal using the visual compare mode in Forma. For example, a side-by-side comparison of sun hours between a Revit design and a Forma design can be set up.
Begin with a Forma version and a Revit version of a proposal already created and open in Forma.
The analysis completes quickly.
To select the items to compare:
The designs display side-by-side.
In the analysis panel for each design, there are options for comparison. These specific analyses enable the selection of different dates and time intervals, as well as the comparison of direct sun on the ground.
To see analysis results for specific points on the design:
Notice that clicking in one view displays the corresponding sun hours for the selected points in both design views:
Adjustments can be made to change the content and appearance of the results displayed in the comparison.
To compare the geometry that receives between zero and two hours of sun daily using a top view:
The colors displayed in the designs update accordingly.
The compare mode in Forma enables easy comparison of design analysis results that provide valuable insights for informed decision-making.
