Using the Data Sources panel, you can import and aggregate large volumes of data from different sources
00:09
to ground your design in its real-world, contextual environment.
00:13
For example, you can import terrain and water area data, transportation data, point cloud data,
00:21
building data, civil structure data, 3D models, and more to better build, visualize, and analyze your design.
00:30
To access the Data Sources panel, click Manage > Content.
00:35
Then, select the Data Sources Panel.
00:39
Here, you can group and filter items using the two display pulldowns.
00:43
The toolstrip contains several import data options, such as Import File Sources,
00:49
Add Database Data Sources, or Add ArcGIS data.
00:54
InfraWorks is compatible with many file-based data formats, including Civil 3D, Revit, Point Cloud files, and Raster files, to name a few.
01:05
The application also supports the import of database sources from many FDO data providers, such as:
01:11
Microsoft SQL, Raster, Autodesk SDF, SQLite, and more.
01:18
Click the headings in the Data Source List to sort in ascending or descending order.
01:24
You can also expand and collapse the list.
01:27
When you click a data source, it highlights and the details of that data source display in the Data Source Details Section.
01:35
Right-click a data source to see relevant options,
01:38
including the option to rename the selected data source.
01:43
For already imported data, use the tools in the toolstrip to Configure Data Sources,
01:47
Refresh and Remove data sources, or Manage Paths of a data source.
01:52
You can also manage Surface Layers, and Delete them,
01:56
or Select data source features.
01:58
Importing and configuring data to your model creates a data-rich, contextual environment for you to work in,
02:05
and it improves how you visualize and analyze your design.
