Define terms and people type parameters for a queuing system simulation.
Type:
Tutorial
Length:
2 min.
Transcript
00:03
One way to use InfraWorks Mobility Simulation is to create an animated queuing system.
00:09
Once you have created a network of connected walkways and people areas,
00:14
you can begin to define the pedestrians moving through the simulation.
00:18
With a queue system already created and open in InfraWorks Mobility Simulation, from the toolbar, select Parameters.
00:26
In the shortcut menu, select Terms to see that in this case,
00:31
the simulation is set to a 30-minute time window.
00:34
Click Apply, and then OK.
00:37
Once again, Select Parameters, and then People.
00:42
In the Person Types dialog, you can create different types of people,
00:46
each of which looks and behaves according to the parameters you set, including size, movement, and group functionality.
00:53
On the Description tab, click Add (+) twice to add two new person types.
00:59
Then, do the same to add 2 types on the Size tab, and on the Motion tab.
01:05
Back in the Description tab, in the first Person row, select the Colour field.
01:10
In the Choose Colour dialog, select a color, and then click OK.
01:16
Select a color for the second Person row.
01:19
In the Avatar Group column, click in the top row and select Adult, then select Child in the second row.
01:26
Click Apply.
01:28
If the fields reset to the defaults, repeat the process, and Apply the changes again.
01:34
Select the Size tab, and in the Space column, notice the numbers that indicate the spacing between people.
01:40
Select the Motion tab and examine the speed parameters.
01:44
In the Child row, Maximum Speed column, reduce the speed to 1, so that a child moves more slowly than an adult.
01:51
Select Apply.
01:53
When you are finished adjusting parameters, click Apply and then OK.
01:59
Once you set the people type parameters,
02:02
the next step is to set up demand divisions and direct the demand of pedestrians moving through the simulation
